La presente investigación aborda la génesis de la novela gráfica Juan Buscamares (1996-2003) de Félix Vega y rastrea algunas de sus matrices creativas. La obra, publicada originalmente en cuatro volúmenes, ofrece un relato distópico con intertextualidades y elementos de la cultura incaica, junto con una enorme referencialidad caracterizada por manifestaciones precedentes de la cultura popular y la ciencia ficción. El volumen integral (2017) permite indagar sobre cómo en el cómic se presentan, en clave latinoamericana, cuestiones vinculadas a la confrontación entre discursos autoritarios y hegemónicos. También brinda la posibilidad de reflexionar sobre la representación de los roles de género y del cuerpo femenino.
