Este artículo analiza las transformaciones recientes del modelo económico chino, desde su transición de un enfoque industrial a uno basado en servicios, hasta los excesos en inversión en infraestructura y construcción, que han generado sobrecapacidad y acumulación de deuda. Examina el impacto de estas dinámicas en el crecimiento interno, las empresas privadas y el consumo. Por último, se exploran las implicaciones de la política económica actual de China en su papel global, destacando su apuesta por el liderazgo en los BRICS y las tensiones en su relación con Estados Unidos. El análisis concluye con recomendaciones para fomentar la sostenibilidad económica, incluyendo reformas estructurales orientadas al consumo interno y la inversión privada.
