Interculturalidad e investigación social : una reflexión profesional sobre la(s) cultura(s)

This article presents a self-reflection on the social scope of social research work based on the material obtained over more than ten years –especially the first decade of the 21st century– of fieldwork on the Chinese community in Catalonia. Starting from the social and media contextualization during the realization of the fieldwork, the author connects and problematizes different situations and professional experiences with the theoretical concepts about the contact between cultures, and shows the social and academic need to distinguish the concepts of diversity and difference.
