Main Article Content
Civil disobedience appears as a reality with two different but closely related natures. Firstly, we must refer to its theoretical content as a notion (or idea) that has been historically theorized from different lines of thought. Secondly, and almost simultaneously, we see that civil disobedience is directly linked to the concept of non-violence and the tradition of political pacifism. We can also perceive a fruitful conceptual development of the notion as well as a considerable increase in the resource to civil disobedience in actions of social mobilization in the first decades of the 21st century. For this reason, we have deemed appropriate to carry out this study of revision and updating of civil disobedience in both of its sides: theory and practice.
