Health is a universal individual right, which also has a wider dimension that reaches society as a whole. The enjoyment of good health, enables the participation of individuals in society and can lead to potentially positive consequences for the whole. Within this framework is inscribed the perspective of equity in health, whose central purpose is that people reach their health potential, regardless of their social and economic conditions. Against this aim, the places where the population is based influence and determines the health conditions taking an active role. This paper approaches a method of study in which the social determinants of health intervene for the case of the city of Madrid, confirming a clear geography of inequalities.
