Migrations, Integration Models and Risk. Immigration, a Social Risk?

People mobility through borders constitutes one of the most significant phenomena in contemporary world. Current migrations take place within an ambiguity of profits and threats that can be thought from a sociology of risk perspective. This article contextualizes the notion of risk and its relationship with migrations. Afterwards, several state strategies aimed to immigrants’ integration as a way to mitigate their social risks are developed. Finally, the convergence between those integration models is analysed, outlining the challenges posed by new transnational ways of conceiving migration
