A reading of John L. Austin. Notes for a science of language and communication

Fifty years ago now, the British philosopher John L. Austin predicted the birth of a new science of language. Among the conditions necessary for this birth, of particular importance was the collaboration between grammarians, philosophers and other scientists involved in the study of language. We believe this research has begun around the study of the phenomena of mass communication. This object of study favors research on language that goes beyond language as spoken word and opens the door to trans disciplinary work on language-communication. The total autonomy of the science of language and communication is impossible without taking as a frame of reference the discipline which could be called u Austin's paradigm", which permits the study of acts of communication in addition to the processes or structures which permit us to identify them.
