¿Por qué la Historia no ha valorado las actividades de mantenimiento?

In this paper it is argued that human groups use two mechanisms to establish security in the complex world in which they live: a) to attach themselves to the social group to which they belong and b) to create a discourse of legitimation. Both mechanisms are compatible and consistent with groups of low socio-economic complexity, where the legitimation discourse is based on Myth, but they are incompatible with the modernist discourse. Since the advent of Modernism, History has emerged as legitimating discourse based on individuality, which implies a contradiction with the role of the social group. This is the reason why History has denied the importance of maintenance activities and at the same time, the role that women have played before the arrival of modernity.
