Gender based funerary studies have been concerned with the identification of sex and social status. Iberian archaeology, following this approach, has focused on the analysis of material culture changes as indicators of gender ideology, as well as the spatial patterning of skeletal material in relation to gender. By way of contrast, the present study will be concerned with comparative study on funerary offerings, osteological materials, spatial patterning and symbolic interpretation of mortuary contexts. This will enable a better understanding of maintenance activities made by woman.
