La remodelación urbana de la ciudad de México en el siglo XVIII. Una crítica de los supuestos

XVIIIth century urban reforms have been confered to the Enlightenment and attached to the renewal desires of the Borbon dinasty in Spain. This paper shows how these reforms were not endeavoured by the crown but by the virrey, and how the reforms were against the imperial interest as it happened in Mexico city. The Spanish officials, trying to get a beautiful city as some European ones, they had to make up ah kind of subtleties to hide their proposais to the authorities in Spain.
