La intel·ligència artificial, l'aprenentatge automàtic, el Big Data i altres tecnologies estan cada cop més esteses, i això les podria facultar com a nous materials per al disseny. Però, quines característiques especials presenten? De quina manera les hauria d'incloure el disseny en les seves pràctiques? Com afecten la investigació del disseny? Interacció persona-ordinador (HCI)? Experiència d'usuari (UC)? Quines implicacions ètiques tenen?

Ramon Sangüesa és professor de la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). Anteriorment havia dirigit l'àrea d'investigació tecnològica de l'escola Elisava de disseny i enginyeria i havia coordinat el Data Transparency Lab, un consorci internacional d'investigació en l'àmbit de la transparència de dades. És el fundador de MyData Hub, que forma part de mydata.org, una xarxa de promoció de la sobirania sobre les dades personals. És investigador associat del Center for Organizational Innovation del Departament de Sociologia de la Universitat de Colúmbia a Nova York.

El Dr. Ariel Guersenzvaig és el director del màster en Disseny i Comunicació, un màster oficial que dona accés als estudis de doctorat. També dirigeix un curs professional, el màster en Gestió de Projectes i Disseny per a Internet. És professor universitari i de postgrau a Elisava, i professor convidat de diverses universitats (UPF, UPC).
