This paper examines points in common and differences in two chronologically related texts:
Comenius’ Pansophiae Prodromus and Descartes’ Discourse. Both deal with methodological questions with a
view to seeking knowledge, but from different perspectives. Despite the different rules outlined in both texts,
we can conclude that there is a certain family resemblance between them
