Languages 

Articles are accepted in English and Arabic; reviews only in English.

 

Writing directions

Articles should include key words and an abstract of up to 200 words in English.

The University of Barcelona provides a summary of academic writing practices that can be useful to authors in its English style sheet (https://www.ub.edu/cub/criteri.php?id=2176).

For citation, authors are asked to use footnotes, or parentheses in the main text if no extra information is added, with surname and year of publication (e.g. Mc Vaugh 1990); then references should be given in full at the end of the article, in the following form: Mc Vaugh, Michael. 1990 «The Nature and Limits of Medical Certitude at Early Fourteenth-Century Montpellier», Osiris 6, 62-84.

Procedure and communication with authors

Authors should send their manuscript, preferably by email, to either Miquel Forcada (mforcada@ub.edu) or Cristian Tolsa (ctolsa@ub.edu). If physical sending of material is necessary, parcels should be addressed to either Miquel Forcada or Cristian Tolsa / Universitat de Barcelona / Departament de Filologia Clàssica, Romànica i Semítica / Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 585 / 08007 Barcelona.

All articles are double blind-reviewed by two external specialists. Authors are contacted back by email after 1-3 months with a response by one of the two editors. In case of divergent reports the editors’ decision will prevail. Reviews can be freely proposed by any author, and they are read by the editors and if accepted published without peer-review. If the article or review requires modifications authors will be asked to provide a new version within two weeks. All articles and reviews sent before June the 1st. will be published within the current year if they are accepted.
