The short treatise edited and studied here keeps on with the geometrical tradition of measurement of longitudes and surfaces developed in al-Andalus from the 9th century. It contains a set of instructions for beginners which provides some of the objects and tools of measurement as in use there during the 13th and 14th centuries. Together with giving an edition and a mathematical transcription of the text, the article shows the links existing between this treatise and the other geometrical works written in al-Andalus which were discovered and studied in the last ten years.
