This work addresses the study of Fragmentos músicos, a manual of music theory and practice written in the form of a dialogue by Pablo Nassarre, one of the most important treatise authors of Spanish music during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. This study is approached from a complementary dual perspective —bibliographical and literary— that formally analyses, based on philology, a text that until now had only been studied by musicologists, focusing on its content.
