La medición de los procesos de sostenibilidad en España mediante indicadores. La experiencia del OSE

This article initially discusses the difficulty of defining sustainability objectively and the arduous task of measuring sustainable processes because of their multidimensionality, their space-time
dynamics, and their varied objectives and functions. It then highlights the importance of indicator systems that take into account the different conceptual frameworks, methodologies and approaches, in addition to the experience of the Observatory of Sustainability in Spain as expressed in its generic and thematic reports. Finally, it stresses the need to move towards a dynamic view of sustainability through modeling systems and prospective scenarios.
