Propuesta de un método para el análisis demográfico de la emancipación de los jóvenes

Having justified the importance of the delay in the age Spanish youngsters become independent from their parents, and having outlined the deficiency of information and quantification of the phenomenon, we propose a demographic analysis method which will allow us to carry out an in-depth study of emancipation from a demographic perspective, whilst creating a solid base from which to assess interrelations with fertility, the labour market and the housing market. The application of the method to provincial populations obliges us to reconsider some established ideas with regards to the reasons for the delay in Spanish youngsters becoming emancipated from their parents. It also opens up the possibility of making projections on emancipation flows.
