Cruise tourism in the Mediterranean. An approach to the Balearic Islands

Cruise tourism is the fastest growing international tourism product. Its success lies in the variety of supply and demand to meet the expectations of all kinds of customers. When talking about cruise tourism, we make reference not only to the boat itself and destination ports, but also to a complex network where multiple factors, either directly or indirectly, make of this type of tourism one of the most relevant. In the Mediterranean, cruise tourism has experienced a tremendous growth due to the proximity of the main European capitals and to the fact that some of its ports are regarded as the most important ones in the world. Among these, we find the port of Barcelona and the Balearic ports.
