The places of the school periphery

Space as a concept is a polysemic term. Within the educational field, it help us understand not only the physical infrastructure (classrooms, offices, playgrounds....) but also the personal experiences, emotions and power relationships which are established within the educational system. This is to say, these places cease to be mere recipients in order to become lived and experienced spaces, due to the acquisition and use that these individuals and groups make of them. In this way, an abstract concept turns into a concrete, personal and social one for both individuals and groups. This also means that for the teaching architecture the built space is a vital space. A public space with rules created in order to discipline people.
