Sebastião Salgado is a reference for author, humanist and documentary photography. The purpose of this article is to disseminate the life and work of this author, paying special attention to the analysis of the main features of his photographs through the reading, both from the technical and interpretative point of view, of sixteen images of eight his most representative projects: Otras Américas, Sahel, Trabajadores, Éxodos, Retratos de los niños del éxodo, El fin de la polio, Café and Génesis.
