This paper analyzes the concept of creation in the western artistic culture, particularly in relation to the paradigm shift of the Italian Renaissance. Starting from an analysis of the creation as rebellion against the divine and the connections between the Renaissance and classical culture, it will highlight the stress of the art between expression of individuality and collective process.
