De la identitat del poder al poder de la identitat: algunes consideracions sobre la situació de la llengua catalana al País Valencià

The purpose of this article is to provide an explantory account of the so-called Valencian Linguistic Conflict, hes probably the most developped topic of the Catalan Sociolinguistic bibliography. However the typical interpretations about this subject arent sufficiently satisfactory. In spite of their superficial linguistic appearance, many instances of this conflict, Valencian Linguistic Secessionism particulary, can be interpreted as being deep manifestations of the social modernisation and the class struggle of contemporary valencian country. The paper deals with various questions concerning the relationships betwen society, language and political, economical and cultural powers and focuses this paradoxal contrast: beyond the identity of power reappears the power of identity.
