This article presents a vision of the psychological basis of the figure of the mediator established by our legal system. It describes the principles of the process of mediation, the figure of the mediator and the effectiveness of the agreements that can be reached. The article finally makes a reflection on the need to manage and balance emotional processes, on how to do this in a harmonious manner, and on the role of mediators.
