The arrival of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19 disease) in Spain has also had an impact on parental access to Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU). At the beginning of the pandemic, measures were taken that, based on public health criteria, and were considered necessary. As scientific knowledge about COVID-19 advanced, and based on the new data obtained, the measures initially established began to be adapted.
