The sustainable use of natural resources depends on the adoption of polices that enable the cost-benefit analysis related to it. The different value dimensions associated with natural resource (economic, ecological and socio-cultural) must be considered in this process, and this requires, the application of different methods capable of capturing them. The selection of methods used must consider the characteristics of natural resources and the objectives proposed by the study keeping in mind that methods capable of capturing the totality of the environmental assets' value do not exist yet.
