Place-network and environmental action : tracks for reflective and situated governance

Relational perspectives, in particular, Social Network Analysis, are making an important contribution to understand patterns of worldwide environmental action. In order to contribute to this research field, in this paper, Place-Networks, as a theoretical construction as well as a methodology, is applied to grasp co-participation of actors into environmental action, in particular times and places; it is a strategy of analysis to reveal place-network's composition, structure and dynamics. Illustrated with some case studies of environmental action in Colombia, using participatory methods, some clues are provided to improve the building capacity of situated and reflexive environmental governance.
