Organizational networks studies and their motivations are justified through a series of challenges, among them the structural characteristics and motivations in a dynamic network of actors. Thus, this article’s objective is to describe the structural and motivational configuration of a network called Rede de Organizações de Materiais Recicláveis da Grande Curitiba from 2007-2011. Through the process of identification and social networks analysis, through semi-structured interviews and questionnaires, we present the description of the historical features of the network. In addition to that we mapped its relational and structural embeddedness over the time, separated by each actor’s personal motivations. In order to do this, we used structural network indicators separated by motivations. These analyzes enabled us to realize the structural configuration of the network by motivational types, besides its main actors and changes in time, contributing in a new methodological perspective, the development of network analysis, applied in the areas of applied social sciences, whose specific contribution rises the importance of understanding the individual motivations in cooperative systems of organizational networks.
