After being declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, La Sarga has become the paradigm of prehistoric rock art in the Mediterranean arc of the
Iberian Peninsula. Its painted images, which belong to three artistic horizons Macroesquematic, Levantine and Schematic are exceptional and, in some
cases, unique. The measures adopted for their study, conservation and dissemination have served as a model for other rock art sites.
