Historiographical study, catalogue and interpretation of the Iberian refuge-caves and sanctuary-caves in Alicante (Spain)

We present the historiographical study and the catalogue of the caves with Iberian materials of the province of Alicante, the so-called Sanctuarycaves
and Refuge-caves. We propose that the Sanctuary-caves could relate to passage initiation rituals according to their situation, morphology and material record. The figure of the wolf is also included, traditionally very linked with this ritual sphere.
