This article is a distillation of concepts from a wide spectrum of disciplines— psychoanalysis, philosophy, social psychology—that will precede the elaboration of the vicissitudes of a clinical case with a trans* patient (D to H). With the help of the World Values Survey (WVS), I propose that as a society we move towards gender fluidity and the emancipatory values of the most outstanding democracies.
