L' exposició de creus del Primer Congrés d’Art Cristià de Catalunya de 1913: al voltant d’unes noves fotografies d’Enric Llorens

In 1913, the Junta de Museus and the Catalan dioceses organized the exhibition of crosses within the First Christian Art Congress of Catalonia, gathering more than two hundred gold and silver crosses in the Palace of Fine Arts of Barcelona. Until now the participation of some was known by a few news, but the discovery of new pictures of Enric Llorens in the Institut Amatller d’Art Hispànic – Arxiu Mas have allowed to recreate almost entirely this event. This article uses these images to analyse the exhibition, the studies that had been dedicated to goldsmithing, their consequent impact on historiography and museum collections, as well as the activity of this photographer.
