Noves aportacions a la iconografia de la capa pluvial del bisbe Ramon de Bellera. Opus anglicanum del s. xiv

Capa pluvial que va pertànyer a Ramon de Bellera, bisbe de Vic (1352-1377). És un ornament de brodat anglès, anomenat opus anglicanum. Va ésser trossejada al segle xvii i mossèn Gudiol la va restaurar a la fi del segle xix. És de vellut de seda vermella amb brodats de sedes policromes i or. Els brodats tenen una lectura iconogràfica d’exaltació de la Mare de Déu, sempre relacionada amb Jesús, i de la Lletania dels sants, ja que hi són representats apòstols i sants màrtirs de l’església primitiva i de l’església anglesa.

A cope that belonged to Ramon de Bellera, bishop of Vic (1352-1377). It is a vestment embroidered in the type of English needlework known as «opus anglicanum». It was torn to pieces in the 17th century and subsequently restored by Mossèn Gudiol at the end of the 19th century. The cope is of red silk velvet with silk embroidery in various colours and in gold. The embroidery is an iconographic representation of the exaltation of the Virgin Mary, always associated with Jesus and the Litany of the saints, since apostles and martyr saints of the Primitive Church and English Church are represented.
