The nowadays democratization of cosmetic surgery means that lexicon of this specialized domain is being greatly used by non-specialist speakers. A corpus consisting of several Italian cosmetic surgery websites and glossaries will be a starting point for analysing how general dictionaries reflect this specialized language. This corpus-based study will focus on frequency of terms, definitions, translational equivalence, foreign words and phraseological units.
