The identification and dating of a glass fragment of significant impact is corrected. The arguments for its historical classification that are provided serve to introduce some methodological aspects. The evidence for the background of this piece has a positive impact on how we may regard artefacts of more recent times, including contemporary items. Its archaeological role in general as well as stratigraphic, spatial, functional, social, economic and cultural aspects, in particular areassessed. This glass is an example of a representative link in the diachronic chain of glass technology and pharmacology.
