This paper analyzes the rabbit remains (Oryctolagus cuniculus) from three chalcolithic pits of El Casetón de la Era (Villalba de los Alcores, Valladolid), to contribute to the identification of the agent of accu-mulation in each of the structures. The analysis of anatomical representation, mortality profiles, fragmentation and bone surface modifications allow us to suggest a natural origin possibly associated with burrows for one of the assemblages, while for the other two assemblages, human is proposed as the accumulating agent.
