Secondary hallucinations to an organic disease: clinical characteristics and management

Hallucinations are defined as perceptions in the absence of an external stimulus. Hallucinations are typical symptoms of psychotic disorders, but they can also appear in affective or dissociative disorders, as well as in multiple organic disorders, basically as visual perceptual disturbances. In this review, we will describe the main characteristics of hallucinations related to both neurological and sense organs  disorders, as well as their management.
