The COVID-19 pandemic has shown how fragile the tourism industry is facing the emergence of uncontrollable phenomena. In the Spanish case, the closure of all activity has caused an unprecedented labour and economic debacle, which has also opened up a space for dispute over the ways of thinking and doing about the forthcoming tourism. In this interview, Professor Antonio Miguel Nogués Pedregal reflects on the present and future implications of the pandemic from the socio-anthropological viewpoint that tourism is a context through which the world is ordered and acquires meaning.
