La mobilitat de les persones a la regió metropolitana de Barcelona

The increase in the number and lenght of the journeys that the metropolitan population carries out every day, and the progressive trend to base these journeys on the individual transport has important implications, basically negative ones, on the territory and the whole society. In a moment when everybody becomes aware of the problem caused by the current mobility patterns, the undestanding of its continuation is only possible through the identification of the causes that explain the behaviour of those who move. Equally, the responses given to every situation will have to be aware of this diversity of the motivations.
