Procesos participativos inclusivos para la restauración de ecosistemas urbanos en un contexto de emergencia climática

La restauración de ecosistemas urbanos se está promoviendo cada vez más como solución basada en la naturaleza (SbN) para promover ciudades más resilientes frente al cambio climático, más habitables y socialmente inclusivas. Para evitar que las SbN reproduzcan exclusiones y desigualdades, es necesario tener en cuenta las diferentes dimensiones de la justicia socioambiental como principios clave de los procesos participativos inclusivos para el diseño, la implementación, el monitoreo y la evaluación de las SbN. Este artículo ilustra las variables principales de los procesos participativos en la investigación transdisciplinar y la toma de decisiones sobre SbN, es decir, el grado de poder en la toma de decisiones, la racionalidad del proceso y el grado de inclusión. Posteriormente, caracteriza lastres dimensiones de justicia socioambiental: la justicia distributiva, la procedimental y de reconocimiento. Finalmente, se explican las dimensiones relevantes a tener en cuenta a la hora de diseñar procesos participativos inclusivos sobre SbN que condicionan la justicia socioambiental como son (i) la desigualdad y el poder, (ii) la distribución desigual de la naturaleza urbana, iii)las diferencias culturales y sociales en la percepción, valoración y uso de la naturaleza urbana y iv) la interseccionalidad. Para cada dimensión, se plantean una serie de preguntas para reflexionar sobre el proceso, las recomendaciones, los indicadores de evaluación y la propuesta de métodos. Se concluye que es necesario promover procesos participativos inclusivos a lo largo del ciclo de planeamiento de las SbN urbanas para garantizar que estas se adapten a las necesidades y capacidades locales, generen resultados justos y equitativos, incorporen diferentes tipos de conocimiento y creen un sentido de orgullo y pertenencia entre las partes involucradas.
