We cannot delude ourselves with politics since the twentieth century has
imposed a series of concepts such as violence, coercion or injustice that
have not been mitigated. Evil has been imposed as the abandonment of
many, through what Shklar defines as passive injustice and Arteta the
figure of the spectator. A theory of justice more attentive to injustice than
the classic models is need. The solution of Judith Shklar, like that of
Aurelio Arteta, is the rule of law and an active and combative attitude
towards injustice. Our conformism and indifference make us complicit.
The philosophy of J. Shklar and A. Arteta is exposed as more empirical
political realism than that of H. Arendt in the treatment of injustice and
the central role of the victims.
