Nuevas de Índias focuses on historiography and Spanish and colonial Spanish-American literature, which broadly covers the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries, so that it starts with a multidisciplinary perspective.
The areas of knowledge include contiguous disciplines related to history and liteartura such as philosophy, political science, law, religion, anthropology or mythology, architecture and urbanism, archeology and education, among others.
It will also take into consideration the common cultural debate in Spain and America, the European heritage in the New World and the theoretical and methodological approaches to examine the literary history of the colonial period in the light of cultural studies.
It is directed, in the first place, to the professors, researchers and students of the departments of Philology and Modern and Contemporary History; In the second place, those of the humanities, law, theology, anthropology and other related disciplines, such as book history, architecture and urbanism, geography, iconography and iconology, archeology and music, or those of literatures in other languages, specially the french and the english ones.
Its main objective is the publication of original research and academic quality, so it has an editorial policy based on compliance with the most rigorous quality indicators at state and international level.
