Package Leaflet Corpus as a Learning Resource for Teaching French-Spanish Specialized Translation

The aim of this paper is to evaluate the compilation of a corpus of package leaflets of medicines for human use as a versatile teaching resource for the French-Spanish specialized translation classroom. Firstly, we establish the curricular context of the Degree in Translation and Interpreting in Spain to contextualize the competences required by the EHEA. Then, we show the methodology followed to compile a bilingual corpus of French and Spanish package leaflets and its potential application in specialized translation training.

Manuel Cristóbal Rodríguez Martínez, University of Málaga

Manuel Cristóbal Rodríguez Martínez holds a B.A. in Translation and Interpreting (French and English) and a M.A. in Editorial Translation from the University of Málaga. He is currently working as a professional translator of scientific articles and literary translator. His research lines are biomedical translation, literary translation and corpus-based studies

Emilio Ortega Arjonilla, University of Málaga

Emilio Ortega Arjonilla is a Professor of Translation and Interpreting at the University of Málaga (UMA), where he has taught since 1995. He is the PI of the Research Group of Traducción, Comunicación y Lingüística Aplicada HUM767, located at the UMA. He is academic co-director of collections Interlingua (Comares, Granada) and Tecnología, traducción y cultura (Tirant Lo Blanch, Valencia), and editor of Entreculturas (journal of translation and intercultural communication).
