In the sixties a group of historians questioned the leading role or the Valencian bourgeoisie in the l9th century. Yet we have checked that the Valencian bourgeoisie carried out a hectic activity before the Democratic Six Years to overcome the political and economical crises held at the time.
Tokens of leadership and boldness in this social class have been the creation of a journal spreading their ideological model and especific projects on social intervening, their ideological frame linked through European positivism, their well-plotted plans towards a free-trade market articulation, reforms on Administration and educational system as well as some early proposals to solve social problems.
