Desde el mito a la grandeza: auge de una rama valenciana de la casa "Zapata de Calatayud" (siglos XVI-XVIII)

This text aims to show the rise of one of the main branches of the Zapata de Calatayud family, from the purchase of their first lordships in the sixteenth century (Agres and Sella), to the acquisition of the second-class Grandeza de España tille at the end of the eighteenth century. During this process, they would also obtain the Cirat county and, later, the Villafranqueza county. Paramount throughout the entire process were the type of bonds forged within their scope, the marriage strategies followed to obtain higher titles of nobility, and the construction of the mythic origin of the family thanks to the use of genealogy.
