The author of this essay sets out to examine, as an inventive processes, the characteristic ways of being and interacting that have taken shape in the pictorial space of still life and Dutch interiors. He also explores the desire that involves the (in)discreetness of some poetical images and the rhetorical conventions that govern the constructions of visual metaphors.
