The translation into Spanish of this poetic anthology from manierism theorist Giovanni Paolo Lomazzo’s literary works tries to reveal him a macarronic poet disguised as a rude labourer, who makes verses in dialect so as to express disagreement with the traditional concept of art and culture in Milan. In the introduction we suggest some clues of reading about the grottesco and its aesthetic significance in the poetry by Lomazzo.
