Librarians-information scientists: what we know how to do and what we offer to organisations of the 21st century

The text of a brochure issued by the Official College of Librarians-Information Scientists of Catalonia (COBDC) in 2006 to inform companies and institutions — potential employers of COBDC members—of the professional profiles of today’s librarian-information scientist. The profiles are grouped by function in relation to the use of information technologies; the work performed in the companies; training and consultancy; and the organisation of information. The text highlights the functions that the information professional can undertake in different settings.
