In January 2022, EBLIDA, in collaboration with the National Library of Latvia, published the Second European Report on Sustainable Development and Libraries <http://www.eblida.org/Documents/Second-European-Report-on-SDGs-in-Libraries_Full-Report2022.pdf>. EBLIDA (European Bureau of Library, Information and Documentation Associations) is an umbrella association of library, information, documentation and archive associations and institutions in Europe, founded in 1992 <http://www.eblida.org/>. It has about 110 members across Europe, including COBDC and FESABID. EBLIDA’s activities focus on European library legislation, such as copyright and licensing, the impact of the library on society, and the Sustainable Development Goals in Europe. Since 2019, EBLIDA has taken a practical approach to implementing the SDGs in libraries, and through the European House of SDGs <http://www.eblida.org/activities/the-eblida-sdg-european-house.html> develops services, narratives or tools, such as the EBLIDA Matrix <http://www.eblida.org/activities/the-eblida-matrix.html> for the implementation of the SDGs in libraries, or the Knowledge and Information Center of the ODS (SDG-KIC: <http://www.eblida.org/activities/sdg-kic/>).
This article presents a translation and adaptation in Ca-talan of the Second Report which includes a summary of the results of a questionnaire sent in the autumn of 2021. The report also contains a series of seventeen pro-files of countries (including Spain) that are not included in this translation. Each of these profiles includes a general background, national priorities and policies of the SDGs, a selection of SDG-oriented projects and some advice on sources of funding and evaluation, which can be found in the original document. Country profiles are a model for EBLIDA members not included in this report and for any library willing to pursue sustainable development goals in libraries. The report provides an overview of the current perception and implementation of the SDGs in European libraries, and provides insights and opportunities to con-sider.
