Public libraries in Terres de l’Ebre. Initiatives in time of crisis

The experience of libraries in Terres de l’Ebre has brought to light a number of key factors for the development of public libraries by means of current, sustainable and self-identity models. This article reflects on how libraries currently face the economic crisis in what has become a more diverse and global environment. A future scenario is forecast, which is charac-terised by new features, professionals with interdisciplinary roles and an increase in their flexibility and capacity to adapt to change.
