The Ibertex, name of the Spanish videotexnetwork, was introduced in Spain more than 10 years ago. The expectancy that it caused at that time, when the French example was taken as a model, has not been confirmed. In recent years, partly thanks to a more determined policy by Telefónica in favour of this means of communication, both the number of terminals and hours of consultation have increased considerably. However there are some factors which may obstruct this means to reach the expected difusión.
